Graduated at the Faculty of Sciences of the Masaryk university in Brno, subjects of study: Geology, Petrology and Mineralogy. Among his main interest it is possible to mention petrology and mineralogy of igneous and metamorphic rocks. In a frame of this specialization he successfully finished his PhD studies in 2012. Since 2006 he has been employed at the Institute of Geological Sciences at the Faculty of Sciences of the Masaryk university in Brno as a scientific operative. In his work he focuses mainly on basic research with a use of various analytical methods, especially electron microscopy (electron microprobe and scanning electron microscope). Results of his work have been published in many scientific journals (28 impact papers according to the WOS, H-index 10 in 2020) and he has also participated at many conferences. Recently he has started a cooperation with archaeologists in a form a supervision of petroarchaeological Bachelor and Master theses.
